LODI, CALIFORNIA (November 14, 2012) – Mike Garcia and Garcia Racing, of Lodi, CA, have announced the launch of the Garcia Racing Championship Modified Rental program for the 2013 season. The rental program will be offered to funded drivers interested in competing in NASCAR-sanctioned Modifieds at All American Speedway and Stockton 99 Speedway, or in the Lucas Oil Modified Series.
The team will make a soft-launch of its rental program this weekend with Atherton, CA driver Nik Romano driving the #57 entry at Las Vegas Bullring. The 2012 Stockton 99 Speedway points runner-up driver will be competing in the series finale for the Lucas Oil Modified Series.
"We are very excited to kick off this program this weekend against the top competition in the Lucas Oil series," team owner Mike Garcia said. "Having a young talent like Nik Romano in our car will give us a great shot at the win!"
Garcia Racing has experienced great success over the last three seasons with driver Wes Miller behind the wheel. In 39 starts, Miller has accumulated 14 race wins and 22 quick-times in qualifying. The results came to a head in 2011 when the team won the track championship at Stockton 99 Speedway.
By offering a rental program, Garcia Racing is making available its two STR chassis. The cars were built by and will be prepared by crew chief Steve Teets. STR chassis have been a constant threat for race wins in the prestigious Lucas Oil Modified Series but have also proven to be contenders in the NASCAR-sanctioned programs in Northern California.
Garcia Racing was founded in 1998 by owner Mike Garcia, who has experience as a driver and a car owner across NASCAR Late Models, NASCAR Modifieds, SRL Southwest Tour, and the former NASCAR Southwest Series.
