28 entries have been filed for the "Star Nursery 200" at Las Vegas Bullring for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, West this weekend including a pair of cars being entered by Derrike Cope. Cope, a former K&N West competitor and Daytona 500 winner, will field cars for Irishman Ali Jackson and Mountain View, Calif. driver Tim Bell. Also entered of note are Jessica Brunelli and Jason Fensler. ENTRY LIST
KERN COUNTY RACEWAY PARK CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES WITH TOWER

Kern County Raceway Park, the new paved half-mile being built near Bakersfield, has continued its push for an October opening with progress on its four story control tower. The tower will house race control, luxury suites, and concessions. Steel began being put up yesterday and including the embankment for the grandstands below, the stucture will be one of the tallest in the entire Kern County. SCOTT WINS 22ND CAREER NASCAR LATE MODEL RACE WITH ROSEVILLE WIN

Pine Grove's Matt Scott, the 2010 & 2011 All American Speedway champion, dominated Saturday's 75 lap Late Model feature. Scott won by nine seconds to score his 22nd career NASCAR Late Model victory. The 20 year-old driver also takes over the division points lead by just one point over second place finisher Ron Chunn.
USAC WINS GO TO FARIA AND BERNAL AT HANFORD

Hollister's Ryan Bernal had another strong showing this weekend in USAC competition, winning Saturday night's USAC Western Midget feature at Kings Speedway in Hanford before finishing second to Danny Faria, Jr. in the USAC/CRA event. USAC/CRA points leader Mike Spencer finished third in the feature.
LARSON SWEEPS TULARE THUNDERBOWL ACTION ON FRIDAY NIGHT

Elk Grove's Kyle Larson continued where he left on in 2011 by sweeping both the King of the West and USAC West Coast 360 features on Friday night at Tulare Thunderbowl. Larson drove the #57 Paul Silva mount to win his heat and feature for King of the West and took the #72 Keith Ford-owned entry to victory in both the heat and feature for USAC West Coast 360s. Larson will try to follow up the performance when both series race on Saturday night as well.
UPDATE: Larson took care of business again on Saturday, by winning the USAC West Coast 360 feature from 20th starting position. In the King of the West, Larson led through lap 25 before blowing his engine and handing the lead to Rico Abreu. Abreu took the victory ahead of Jon Allard and Tim Kaeding.
IRWINDALE SPEEDWAY TO ANNOUNCE 2012 SEASON PLANS SOON

StevenBlakesley.com has learned that the 2012 reopening plans for Irwindale Speedway will be announced within a week. Races will return to the half-mile speedway possibly as soon as the July 4th weekend with weekly races to take place every other weekend from there on out. More information should be released soon.
